The Vision
Becoming, Together...
What kind of world might emerge if our girls were held in loving guidance and true connection through the threshold from childhood into adolescence?
nurture & root Girls Group is an intentional mentorship circle for girls as they cross the threshold into adolescence, a passage our culture so rarely pauses to honor.
We gather weekly, August through May, creating a steady rhythm where connection deepens and relationships can truly take root. Our time together is woven with ritual, nature connection, expressive arts, games, song, story, and craft—offering a living map for this sacred season of becoming.
Here, girls are invited into self-discovery, the mysteries of the feminine, and a deep sense of belonging — to themselves, to one another, and to the world around them.

Hi, I'm Meredith—mama of two, earth tender, and a guide of the rites of passage that shape a woman's life.
For over twelve years, I've worked as a birth and postpartum doula, sitting beside women at one of life's most powerful thresholds. Again and again, I witnessed something that stayed with me: women arriving at the altar of birth unsure of how to trust their bodies, often ready to give their power away.
That witnessing stirred something deeper in me.
I felt called to follow that red thread back—to the earlier crossings, the quieter initiations we so often overlook. I came to understand that menarche, the first blood rite, is deeply connected to every threshold that follows: how we meet our bodies, our voices, our becoming. From that place, Nurture & Root Girls Group was born.
A space to tend the beginning.

A space where their bodies, emotions, and inner knowing are honored as wise from the start.

Each gathering is thoughtfully designed to nurture the whole girl — body, heart, mind, and spirit — through hands-on experiences rooted in nature, creative expression, and community.
Nature Connection
Grounding in the rhythms of the earth through herbal medicine, foraging walks, and nature-based exploration.
Creative Expression
Expressive arts, journaling, and soulful crafts that give girls a safe outlet for self-discovery.
Communication & Relationship Skills
Learning to listen deeply, speak honestly, and build authentic connections with peers.
Ancestral Crafts
Hands-on traditional crafts that connect girls to ancestral wisdom and the beauty of making with their hands.
Conflict Resolution
Practical tools for navigating disagreements with grace, empathy, and mutual respect.
Body Literacy
Understanding and honoring the wisdom of their bodies through age-appropriate education and awareness. Emphasis on puberty and menstruation.
Self Expression
Finding and trusting their unique voice — through movement, words, art, and authentic sharing.
Somatic Awareness
Tuning into the body's signals through breathwork, mindful movement, and grounding practices.
Emotional Intelligence
Building confidence, empathy, and self-awareness through circle time and reflective practices.

How It Works
Girls Group meets weekly in a small, intimate setting — giving each girl the consistency and depth she needs to truly open up and grow. Groups are intentionally kept small so that every voice is heard and every girl is known.
The curriculum is alive and responsive to what the girls need most. We weave each group together as we practice the art of council, ancestral crafts, somatic awareness, nature connection, self expression, conflict resolution, ceremony & ritual, body literacy, stress & anxiety tools and so much more!

Journey Through the Elements
Earth · Air · Water · Fire
In this group we will journey through the elements of Earth, Air, Water, and Fire, to learn about ourselves and the world around us. This commitment culminates in an elemental challenge (rite of passage) and an honoring ceremony to mark and bless the transition from childhood into maidenhood with family and community to witness.
